Coming from an Italian family, it goes without saying that food is and has always been important. Whether it is creating new recipes or baking from a cookbook, food has been a longtime hobby. Homemade pizza, breads, soups, and candies are just some of the menu items in our home.
I got my start in the kitchen as a child but also loved to sit and sculpt with clay. I was always jumping from one craft project to another. Some people called me "crafty" while others called me "artsy". I was fortunate enough to study at The Art Institue of Atlanta where I learned to take my hobbies and turn them into good design. After college, I worked at a local bank in the marketing department where my graphic design skills were put to work.
After starting a family, I left my job at the bank and it was determined that I really needed an interest outside of laundry and play dates. So, I decided to take a Wilton course on cake design at the local craft store. One class turned into more classes and a cake addict was born. If I knew 10 years ago what I know now, this would have happened ages ago! All the skills I've picked up through life translate beautifully into cake.
