About Me
Coming from an Italian family, it goes without saying that food is and has always been important. Whether it is creating new recipes or baking from a cookbook, food has been my longtime hobby. Homemade pizza, breads, soups, and candies are just some of the menu items in our home.
I got my start in the kitchen as a child but also loved to sit and sculpt with clay. I was always jumping from one craft project to another. I was fortunate enough to study at The Art Institute of Atlanta where I learned to take my hobbies and turn them into good design. After college, I worked at a local bank in the marketing department where my graphic design skills were put to work.
When my second child was born, I left my job at the bank to stay home with my boys. While home with them, I was fortunate enough to be able to do freelance graphic design work, photo editing, and wedding album design. But, it wasn't long before I determined that I wanted to do something fun! Because of the importance of food, it was only natural that I would decide to take a class on cake design. One class turned into more classes and a cake addict was born. After a while I was getting so many requests for cakes that my husband and I decided that my days as a graphic designer/photo editor needed to end so I could focus on building a cake business. It's amazing to look back and see how seamlessly the skills I've picked up through life translate into cake.
Since starting Truly Custom Cakery, LLC, life has been a whirlwind of adventure. The business has been more successful than I ever imagined! Truly Custom Cakery, LLC has won several awards and I've built a reputation as having delicious, detail oriented, custom cakes. I feel truly blessed! 
At Truly Custom Cakery,LLC™, you'll find that my approach is a little different than you may be used to. I won't stick a book in front of you and tell you to "pick a cake". Each client that I meet with is a unique individual and is deserving of their own original work of art. That's why I chose Truly Custom Cakery™ as the name of my shop. My son said to me recently, "Mom, I finally get why you named your shop that! It's because your cakes are truly custom!" My son is so smart! Just by watching, he understood that each cake is customized specifically for the recipient.
